NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Bluffton University football team traveled to Manchester University on Saturday, Oct. 21, and came up just short, dropping their second straight road game by a 28-21 margin. Bluffton falls to 2-5 overall and 2-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Manchester improved to 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in the HCAC.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team needed just an hour and five minutes to dispatch Franklin College in three quick sets on Friday, Oct. 20, after the line judges made their grand entrance. Franklin slipped to 10-13 and 0-7 in the Heartland Conference, while Bluffton improved to 15-10 and 5-2 in the HCAC.

On Sunday, Oct. 22 the Swiss Community Historical Society brings the Great Day of Singing to Bluffton University at 4 p.m. in Yoder Recital Hall.
 
Bradley Kauffman, project director of a forthcoming new hymnal from MennoMedia, will lead participants in hymns that explore the musical heritage of local Swiss immigrant churches: from songs of the Anabaptist martyrs, to favorite American hymns, to new songs from the global church proposed for the “Resonate” song and worship collection.
 

Emmanuel United Church of Christ's fall festivities day is Saturday, Oct. 21, at the church, 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m.

The event includes truck or treat, activities and crafts. Persons are invited to come dressed for Halloween. The event is open to the public.

Bluffton Family Recreation will hold a Bubba C Barbecue from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22, at BFR, 215 Snider Road. It's during BFR's Halloween party.

Tickets are $8 and include either a pulled pork sandwich or one-quarter chicken, macaroni and cheese and green beans. Meals are for carry-out or eat-in at BFR.

BFR will hold a family-friendly Halloween party from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 22.

Bluffton area soybean harvest is in full swing and farmers are thinking about corn as the late October weather cooperates with the fall harvest. This field is between Dixie Highway and Tom Fett Road. CLICK HERE FOR A VIDEO.
