If “It’s A Wonderful Life” is one of your all-time favorite Christmas movies, you are in luck.
Bluffton Icon will sponsor two free showings of the 1946 classic featuring the all-star cast of James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore on Friday, Nov. 24, at the Shannon Theatre.
The free showings are at 1:30 and 4 p.m. and are a kickoff to the Blaze of Lights event that takes place the next day. The showings are also part of the Shannon Theatre's Customer Appreciation Weekend. Watch the Icon for more details on that event.
Bridge Bereavement Service’s Group S.T.A.R. (Special Times Always Remembered) will be offering a Holiday Memories program for bereaved children ages 6 through 12.
The program allows children to come together with their peers and participate in activities that will help them express their feelings, create lasting memories of their loved one and have fun at the same time.
Bluffton council plans emergency legislation on Monday to authorize the purchase and training of a police K-9 from funds donated to the K-9 project.
The legislation makes official what was announced earlier when the police department raised over $17,000 in donations and pledges for purchase and training of a police dog.
Police Sergeant Tyler Hochstetler will be the designated handled for the dog.
Ryan Burkholder, police chief, informed Bluffton council members on Oct. 12 that the department achieved it $17,000 goal to purchase the dog.
Ray L. Wilch, 86, died Oct. 20, 2017, at Bluffton Hospital.
Ray was born Oct. 7, 1931, in Jenera, Ohio, to Harvey and Roma Wilch, who preceded him in death. On May 1, 1977, he married Raelene (Campbell - Balmer) Wilch who survives.
Ray graduated from Bluffton High school in the class of 1949. In high school he was very athletic and was the captain of the football and basketball team.
Ray retired from Tuttle Construction in Lima where he was a bricklayer.
