Bluffton resident Dr. Jed Marquart, professor of mechanical engineering at Ohio Northern University, was elected to the board of directors of the National Space Grant Foundation at the National Council of NASA Space Grant Directors fall meeting in Grand Forks.
Marquart is the director of the Ohio Space Grant Foundation. The Foundation contributes to the nation’s science enterprise by funding research, education and public service projects through a national network of 52 university-based Space Grant consortia.
The Bluffton University men's soccer team battled the College of Wooster for 90 minutes but the Fighting Scots netted a pair of tallies each half en route to the 4-1 victory on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Bluffton dipped to 0-8 on the season, while Wooster improved to 6-4.
Wooster broke the scoreless tie in minute 28 when Charlie Krus found Benjamin Freije for his first goal of the season. The visitors made it 2-0 with less than five minutes to play in the opening stanza. Midway through the final 45 minutes, the Fighting Scots tacked on two more scores for a 4-0 lead at the 73:14 mark.
The Bluffton Area Food Pantry has distributed food and other essential supplies to approximately 50 area families this summer.
The pantry’s supplies are running a bit low and could use some reinforcements, according to Ed Yeager, board president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.
