It's Bluffton High School prom weekend

AND THE ICON HAS LOTS OF PHOTOS BELOW!

Bluffton became a tropical paradise on Saturday thanks to efforts of the Bluffton High School junior class.

It was prom night, and the host class created its tropical paradise for seniors and guests in Marbeck Center at Bluffton University.

Because of predicted rain, the traditional promenade, which is just as much fun as prom itself, took prom attendees through Founders Hall to Marbeck. And, inside Founders, all the prom parents and friends had front row seats to view this year's prom styles.

Poem she crafted accepted by The Merrimack Review

Bluffton University student, Becky Boban, an art and writing major from Madison, Ohio, was recently honored with her poem “Built on the Breeze.”

The poem was accepted for publication by “The Merrimack Review,” a literary magazine showcasing work from undergraduate and graduate students, with a rapid and rare turnaround time.

Despite the accolade, Boban remains humble about her work. “It’s just one poem, but it’s a start. Maybe someone will look at it and be like ‘oh, that was a nice poem.’”

Mary Alice Dodge, 85, died April 28, 2017, at Bridge Hospice in Findlay.
