The library is throwing a party and the dress code is polka-dots.

That's a joke, but it offers a hint at the type of party: a polka party.

Elaine Wehri brings her accordion to the Bluffton Public LIbrary, 154 S. Main St., on the first day of spring at 6 p.m., Monday, March 20. The party is in the lower level of the library.

In partnership with the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, the evening includes more than just polka dancing. There's also storytime, games and refreshment involved.

One success leads to another.

The success of the Augsburger Road pathway, separating vehicle traffic from pedestrians and bikers, keeps the momentum going.

After completing the pathway from Bentley to Maple Crest and Riverbend, the Bluffton pathway board turns its attention on Bentley Road, between Augburger-Elm and Grove Street.  

Logan Nussbaum, focuses on his music score during a rehearsal of the Bluffton school strings group. The group will perform at Friday's music booster barbecue. Watch for details on the Icon.

Julia A. Gable, 97, died Feb. 2, 2017, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. 

Julia was born Aug. 6, 1919, in Hancock County near Garner, Iowa, to the late Otto and Amelia (Katter) Schroer who preceded her in death. On Aug. 6, 1941, she married Rev. Vernon Oppermann and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1958.  She then married Karl Gable on Dec. 9, 1965 who preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2002.
