Here is an art work by Andre Martinez that is part of the current exibit at Albrecht Gallery in the Sauder Visual Arts Center at Bluffton University. The show, which closes on Feb. 24 includes works by Cuban artists.

Bluffton police advise drivers of a road closing in the village.

From Tuesday, Feb. 21 until Monday, March 6,  Elm Street between Spring and Rosenberger Drive will be closed while sewer work is underway.

Residents and Mennonite Memorial Home employees will have access.

 

 

 

Keeping Active 2017 ends Feb. 24

This is the final week of free classes offered this winter by Bluffton Family Recreation's Keeping Active program, according to Joseph Beagle, director.

Here's this week's free opportunities:

Monday, Feb. 20
Free walking all day to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb . 21
Total body conditioning, free class, 7:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 22
Free walking all day, 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Free yoga class, Bluffton Public Library, 6:30 p.m.

Bluffton Baptist Church will have special guests Tim and Patty Taylor and their daughters present a worship service of music at 10:45 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 26.

The Taylor family with their daughters have served their music ministry for over 20 years. The family is from Monroe, Mich.

The church is located at 345 County Line Road, Bluffton.

 

March 6 to 24 in Albrecht Gallery

Senior artists and graphic designers will showcase their most prominent work from their four years at Bluffton in their exhibit titled “Viewer Discretion Advised.”

Tracy Cook, Defiance, Ohio; Anna Hairston, Mansfield, Ohio; Mackenzie Hoeckley, Santa Barbara, Calif.; Courtney Rettig, Bluffton, Ohio; Aaron Ward, Toledo, Ohio; and Justin Weaver, Bluffton, Ohio, will have work on display.

Denecker brothers combine for 26 vs. Kenton

Bluffton High School boys' basketball team split its weekend games, losing to Columbus Grove and defeating Kenton.

On Friday, Grove defeated Bluffton 42-39, Grove was led by Caiden Grothaus with 15, the Bulldogs move to 6-13 (NWC 2-5). The Pirates were led by Gabe Denecker with 14, and move to 10-10 (NWC 4-3).

On Saturday, Bluffton defeated Kenton 54-47 in overtime. The Pirates move to 11-10, while the Wildcats move to 12-9 on the season. Gabe Denecker led all scorers tonight with 19, followed by Luke Denecker with 17. Jaron Sharpe led Kenton with 11.
