The Master Gardeners Volunteers of Allen, Hardin and Hancock counties will
offer the Master Gardener Volunteer training program at the OSU-Lima
Campus this spring.

This program provides 50 hours of intensive training in horticulture to interested gardeners who then commit to 50 hours of volunteer service in their home county  assisting with Master Gardener Volunteer sponsored educational programs and activities for residents. Volunteer opportunities and projects vary by county.

Bluffton could be part of a Cincinnati-Toledo route

This is the second in a two-part series on a proposed national and statewide bicycle route network that could pass through Bluffton’s Main Street. It needs Bluffton council’s support for it to take place. That second reading of legislation on the route is on the Monday, Jan. 23, council agenda. CLICK HERE for the first story in this series.

Byrce Knorr featured speaker

Citizens National Bank and Williamson Insurance Agency will hold a free seminar for farmers and ag businesses at 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, in Delphos.

The program is held at the Delphos Eagles Aerie #471, 1600 E. 5th St.

A continental breakfast will be served prior to a presentation by Williamson Insurance describing an overview of annual crop insurance changes and what farmers can expect in the upcoming year.

Bluffton stops Paulding 55-42

Averey Rumer was leading scorer for the Bluffton High School girls' basketball team tonight in a win over Paulding.

It was Bluffton 55 to Paulding's 42 and BHS moved to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in Northwest Conference action.

Paulding moves to 4-11 and 3-2 in NWC play.

3:30 p.m. on Friday - it's Art fun for the family - at the library

Here's you chance to be the artist that may be hiding inside you.

You (and any family member) have an invitation from the Bluffton Public Library to participate in Art Fun for the Family. It's from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, in the Richland Room (lower level).

Art and crafts activities for all ages. Make a balanced mobile after reading about Alexander Calder, or a drip painting inspired by the work of Jackson Pollock.

All participants should wear old clothes. Please note that children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

5-week schedule include tournaments at session's end

Soccer fans can now sign-up for Session III Bluffton Family Recreation indoor soccer league play, according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.

The session runs five weeks from Feb. 19 through April 1 and the sign-up deadline is Sunday, Feb. 12.  Players should note that Session III starts one week earlier than originally posted in the fall.

The session includes a tournament at the conclusion of league play and the team registration fee is $475.
