Bluffton council split its Monday meeting in half.
Council met in open session 39 minutes and coincidentally 39 minutes in closed session.
Two executive sessions took place Monday. They were split with 16 minutes taking place midway between the open session for “personnel job descriptions” as described by Mayor Judy Augsburger.
No action followed the first executive session and no explanation on the discussion was given as council reentered open session.

Healthe Habits for Living and Ellerbrock Spine and Soft Tissue, 120 Main St., Suite A, will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, according to Dr. Matt Ellerbrock and Christine Schroeder of Healthe Habits for Living, who joined the Ellerbrock staff this spring.
The open house includes drawings, door prizes and refreshments. Persons may sign up for a one-on-one free 15-minute consultation with Schroeder.

Other seniors on the Homecoming court were Bryce Butler of Bucyrus, and Erika Byler of Shipshewana Ind. Junior attendants were Thomas Wagler of Bloomdale, and Jena O’Brien of Toledo, while sophomore attendants were LaJohn Beasley of Columbus, and Leslie Beasley of Columbus.
There’s a saying that goes “the truth is stranger than fiction.” Marisa Gerber, staff writer for the LA Times, proved that point with a fake news quiz given during her Oct. 3 Forum presentation, “Telling True Stories in the Era of Fake News,” at Bluffton University.
Margaret I. “Peggy” Wilgus, 89, of Bluffton and formerly of Spencerville, died at 1:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, in the Bowling Green Hospice Center.
She was born March 26, 1928, in Lima, the daughter of Howard and Violet Sockrider Cook, who are deceased. Her step-father Howard Preston is also deceased. On Feb. 27, 1948 she married Lewis E. Wilgus, who died May 23, 2014.
