After graduating Bluffton High School in 2011 and completing her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education (minor in Theatre) at Baldwin Wallace University, Ashton Cluts has taken some time to tell us what’s coming up next in her life…

Looking back on your undergrad experience, which opportunities are you most grateful for?

Protected growth strategies in a low interest rate environment is the topic of a free lunch and learn program held in Ada later this month.

The program takes place from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, July  28, at Community Health Professionals, 1200 S. Main St., Ada. Liberty National Bank of Ada is the program and lunch sponsor.

Chad Newsome and Michael McMeans will present the program. Persons interested in attending must rsvp by Thursday, July 21 to Deb Curlis at CHP, at 419-634-7443.

Cindy Scott was recently promoted to senior vice president marketing and communications at Citizens National Bank.

In this position, she is responsible for developing marketing strategies, advertising plans, media buying and corporate and internal communications bank-wide.

Scott joined CNB in 2006 as the VP Marketing Director. Since that time, her department’s responsibilities have expanded to include social media management, participation in new product development and the creation of an internal employee training program.

Sara Benson, 83 of Eagle River, Alaska, died July 9, 2016 at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, Ohio.

She was born to the late Ralph and Leoda Badertscher of Bluffton, Ohio, on Sept. 20, 1932.Sara was the oldest of her four siblings: Dean Badertscher of Bluffton, Ohio, Jane Walter of Baltimore, Ohio, and two brothers who preceded in death, Don Badertscher (Bluffton, OH) and Brian Badertscher (Lapeer, Mich.).

Tickets are available for the 2016-17 Artist Series at Bluffton University. The season features five performances including a reed quintet, an international piano trio, a jazz composer, a Celtic duo and a one-act play. The Thursday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in Bluffton University’s Yoder Recital Hall.

Akropolis, a reed quintet that incorporates adventure and innovation into each performance, will start the season on Sept. 22. Founded in 2009, the group has earned various musical and educational awards while creating a style of their own.
