The fish were jumping in the Buckeye on Sunday. Here's a young fisherman who caught a trout in one of the boats at the Bluffton Sportsmen's Club trout derby.

Robert Lewis Ramseyer, 86, died April 30, 2016, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born May 9, 1929, in Bloomington, Ill. 

In 1939, his family moved to Bluffton, where he graduated from the Bluffton High School in 1946 and Bluffton College in 1950. He and Alice Ruth Pannabecker were married in 1951.

Ebenezer Mennonite Church will hold a National Day of Prayer program at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, in the Crossroads Ministry Center. There will be a color guard, and the pledge of allegiance be be presented by Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and American Heritage Girls. The service will be called to prayer by the playing of a shofar, or ram’s horn.

The Grace Albrecht Gallery in the Sauder Visual Arts Center on the campus of Bluffton University will host an exhibit by Gregg Luginbuhl ’71, Bluffton University emeritus professor of art, titled “Making My Way.”

Luginbuhl has exhibited pottery and ceramic sculpture in more than 200 regional and national exhibitions. He has received numerous awards, and his work is included in five Ohio Museum collections. 

The exhibit is a retrospective featuring work by the artist over a period of 50 years.
