Dr. Ilana Luna, assistant professor of Latin American studies at Arizona State University, will present her speech titled “Behind the Lens: Mexican Women Make Movies” for Forum at 11 a.m. on March 22 in Founders Hall. This is Bluffton’s annual Women’s Studies Forum. The event is free and open to the public.
The Fort Findlay Stamp and Postcard Club marks its 63rd year with their annual show, FINPEX 2016. This year’s themes for the FINdlay Philatelic EXhibition are “Findlay’s Hot Air Balloon History” and “Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the First Transpacific Balloon Flight.”
This year’s show dates are Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. A special show postmark and cover commemorating our Hot Air Balloons will be available for sale on each day of the show.
Up-and-coming musicians will compete on March 19 in Bluffton University’s Yoder Recital Hall during the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artists Competition for Strings. The competition will culminate with a finalists’ concert at 7:30 p.m.
During the competition, participants in two divisions compete for cash awards up to $600 and the opportunity to perform during the finalists’ concert. Auditions for the evening concert begin at 1 p.m. Both the concert and the auditions are free and open to the public.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2015-16 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season.
To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team.
They're back. Bluffton's road kill posse, also known as turkey vultures, started to arrive in Bluffton this month. Quickly becoming Bluffton's unofficial mascot of the air, a committee of vultures - that's one term for them - adopted Bluffton several years ago and liked it so much they return each spring. We understand when they circle in the air the correct term is a kettle of vultures.
