Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce recognized Bill Watkins on Friday. Watkins retired from Blanchard Valley Heath Systems after a four decade career in health services, mostly with the Bluffton Hospital. For several years he was administrator of Bluffton Hospital.

-Police responded to a non-injury traffic crash on N. Spring St.  Sandra Hamilton, 50, Bluffton was issued a citation for a Reasonable Control violation. 

Bluffton High School girls' doubled the score on Lincolnview, beating them 73-35 behind Alivia Koenig's 20 points and Andie Schmutz 19 points.  Saturday the Lady Pirates will travel to Waynesfield-Goshen.

Book ReViews will host a book signing for Bluffton author, Scot Ciminillo, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, according to Dr. Christina Walton, store manager. 
 
Ciminillo has written three books. His most recent is, "In Thru the Ohio Wilderness: One Man’s (419) Walk," just released.

The book is non-fiction and centers on the author's exepriences of raising a son with Autism Spectrum Disability (ADS), while the author was a student at Bluffton University.

Over winter break we had the chance to catch up with Nicholas Slinger. He graduated from Bluffton High School in 2013 and has shared some great insights from the perspective of a college upperclassman.
 
Where do you attend school and what are you studying there?
Ashland University studying Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Political Science. 
 
What led you to choose this major?
