Want to be in a parade?

There’s still time to enter a unit or float in the Saturday, Nov. 28, Blaze of Lights parade.

As of Nov. 11 the parade has 80 units with a goal of 100, according to Junior Weihrauch, parade director. Based upon last year’s parade of 100 units, the parade will last one hour.

This year three new trophies are part of the parade awards.
Trophies follow:

Best floats
1 – First place trophy
2 – Second place trophy
3 – Third place trophy

They are kids, community leaders, artists, musicians, single moms, teachers and local “characters.” They all come together to present a cross-section of a community that’s uniquely. . . Findlay.

When “Humans of Findlay” goes on sale this month, area residents will have a chance to own a moment in time; a collection of stories that are, at once, nostalgic and offbeat. A collaboration between The University of Findlay and the Hancock Historical Museum, “Humans of Findlay” features approximately 180 profiles of local individuals drawn from a popular Facebook page.

Maple Crest Senior Living Village, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton, will host the musical group, “Work in Progress,” in concert.

The free concert is at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, and is open to the public.  To learn more, the Work in Progress Ministries can be found on Facebook.
