Thomas "Skip" Edgar Bassitt, 72, of Lecanto, Fla., and formerly of Bluffton died Oct. 21, 2015, at his residence.
Thomas was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Bluffton to the late Loren "Bill" and Margaret "Peg" (McGuire) Bassitt. On Aug. 28, 1999, he married Sharen Fuller Bassitt and she survives.
Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs will expand its 2016 Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition into two divisions with six total winners, according to Brendon Matthews, BCE board president.
This year’s cash and in-kind prizes total $8,500.
The contest offers a Start-up and Emerging Business Division, accepting entries from Allen, Hancock, Putnam and Hardin counties. It offers a $2,000 first place, $1,000 second place and $500 third place cash award, in addition to several in-kind prizes.
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main St., Jenera, will highlight mission work Oct. 24-25. On Saturday, October 24, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society will host a rally featuring Missionary Terry Schultz who served in Haiti. A time of welcome with refreshments will be from 9-9:30 a.m. followed by Schultz's presentation. The ladies' choir will provide music. Lunch will be served following the meeting. Babysitting is provided and the church is handicapped accessible.
The Pandora United Methodist Church located on St. Rt. 12 will be serving chicken/beef noodles, mashed pototoes, full salad bar, dessert and beverage on Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 5-7 p.m.. Cost of the meal is: adults $8, 3-12 yrs. $4 and under 3 free.
The Mount Cory and Pleasant View United Methodist Churches will be sponsoring
a Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31 in the parking
