Bluffton's United Way is off to a great start. The three local banks, Chase, Citizens National Bank and First National Bank, assisted the UW by sharing the $500 administrative costs to the United Way national organization. That means all donations from here on stay in Bluffton. From left, Tonya Meyers, Senior Citizens, a UW agency; Duane Bollenbacher, United Way president; Neil Reichenbach, United Way treasurer; Emily von Stein, Chase; Lauren Beasley, Citizens National; and Brendon Matthews, First National.

Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Bluffton, will host a piano-violin recital, open to the public, at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, in its patio room.

The program will include a range of music from classical to arrangement of hymns and other well-known works.

This is the earliest photo of a group of Bluffton women we've ever viewed. The best part is that every woman is listed - however - the listing is by their married name. (Except for two single women).

And, while we have all their names, we aren't certain of who is who, because the names are not row by row.

The names suggest these are wives of businessmen in Bluffton.

Here's the list, as it is hand written on the back of the photo, from top to bottom. Perhaps they are listed in order, but we don't know if the order starts on the front row or the back row.
