Artist series to continue with Cantus

Tickets are available for the next performance in the 2014-15 Bluffton University Artist Series, by the vocal ensemble Cantus at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, in Yoder Recital Hall.

Peace activist is MLK forum speaker

Sister Paulette Schroeder, a Sister of St. Francis and leader of Project Peace in Tiffin, Ohio, will address “The ‘Moral Courage’ Needed to Live Nonviolently” in Bluffton University’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Forum, on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Free and open to the public, her presentation will begin at 11 a.m. in Bluffton’s Founders Hall.

Mustard Seed announces January features

Mustard Seed Cafe, 562 N. Main St. Bluffton, will be offering the following features during January. 

DINNER:
Red Snapper with Romesco Sauce and black olives over Polenta
Pork Scallopini with smashed red skin potatoes and kale greens
Beef Carbonnade over roasted potatoes

SALAD:
Luxembourg Salad

SOUP:
French Onion Soup

LIGHT PLATE:
Crostini with herbed goat cheese, sauteed herb mushrooms, sun dried tomato pesto

Funeral service for Jack Adair on Monday

Jack Adair, 76, of Estero, Fla., died Jan. 7, 2015, at Joanne House, Bonita Springs, Fla.  

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton.  Visitation will be from  4-8 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Whole milk or cream?

Does the milk man bring Paul Detweiler's Hy-Grade Dairy milk to your doorstep each morning? He probably delivered it to your grandparent's doorstep. Detweiler was one of several local milk producers who once upon a time had home delivery in Bluffton. A display of glass milk containers of several former area dairies is on display in the Blufton Public Library this month.
