ArtSpace/Lima announces the opening of ArtSpace/Pops 2016: A Fine Craft Invitational in The Ellen Nelson Gallery, on Sunday, July 31. Several of the artists are from Bluffton.
 
ArtSpace/Pops 2016 features all new works by 22 area craftsmen and -women in a joint showing which builds on the success of its predecessors. 

Artists on display work in wood, metal, clay, paper, fabric and various jewelry-oriented combinations of metals and beads.

Bluffton Police Chief Rick Skilliter is advising Bluffton residents to be on the alert for potential break-ins this summer.

Skilliter provided the Icon with the following statement concerning recent thefts and burglaries in the village.

Since the first of June, the Bluffton community has seen an inordinate number of thefts and burglaries. 

This uptick in crime is disconcerting to residents as well as law enforcement officials.

The first-ever Heritage Day Festival takes place in Mt. Blanchard on Saturday, Aug. 20, beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting through fireworks that evening.  

The Beautification Committee, with help from village council, sponsors the event.

Citizens National Bank announces two staff member promotions.

Courtney Geus is now assistant vice president of retail lending. Nick Ardner is assistant vice president project manager.

Guess is responsible for the pricing, selling, delivery and servicing of all salable loans. She oversees underwriting for one to four family mortgages, home equity lines of credit, secondary market lending, Visa credit card and consumer lending.

Fire destroyed the Suter Produce barn on Pandora Road between Bluffton and Pandora in a Saturday evening blaze. The cause is not yet determined
