The Beavers took game one by a 3-1 count before the home Scots returned the favor, 4-2, in the nightcap. Bluffton stands 9-8, while Alma moved to 9-9 on the season. It marked the first Bluffton victory against Alma since a 1-0 road shutout in 2009 and only the third win ever over the Scots.
LEXINGTON, Va. - The men's and women's track and field teams opened their outdoor season at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA in mixed weather conditions and to mixed fortunes.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University baseball team finally played their home debut and made it count, as they opened HCAC play with a 6-2 victory over Franklin College on Friday, Mar. 20. Bluffton used a stout seven-inning performance from senior hurler Nate Simonds (Ypsilanti, Mich./Lincoln) in the winning effort. The Beavers improved to 8-5 and 1-0 in conference play, while the Grizzlies fell to 5-6 and 0-1 in the conference.
Fireworks will light up Bluffton’s nighttime sky as a pre-Fourth of July weekend celebration again this summer.
Bluffton fireworks, hosted by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, takes place the evening of Saturday, June 27, in the outdoor athletic field area of Bluffton University at the corner of Bentley and Augsburger roads.
The chamber currently seek donations from area businesses, industries, organizations and individuals to help support the fireworks.
When you think of Main Street Bluffton in the spring and summer do petunias come to mind? While it’s mid-March, it’s time to stop what you are doing and think about smelling the flowers.
According to Susie and Steve Stratton of Stratton Greenhouses, “This will be the ninth year for providing the potted plants on Main Street.”
To make this happen, according to the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, Steve and Susie are asking for contributions to keep the program going. This year the sponsorships are $100 per pot.
