Ronald Lee Rich, 87, of Bluffton, Ohio, died on Nov. 28,2014, from complications from prostate cancer. He was born on March 29, 1927, in Washington, Ill., to Rufus J. and Lillian (Lantz) Rich.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, of Bluffton; son Jonathan (Tai) of Union City, Calif.; son Andrew (Sally) of North Manchester, Ind.; daughter Miriam (James Brown) of Blacksburg, Va.; son Mark (Kathy) of Yellow Springs, Ohio; six grandchildren; sister Lois Smucker (Len) of Ashland, Ore.; and sister Mary Blosser of Bluffton.
It's "Merry on Main" tonight (Monday, Dec. 1) in downtown Ada.
From 6 to 8 p.m. events take place at the Depot on Main, sponsored by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.
• Santa will meet youth of all ages in the Depot
• Two home school choirs from Miss Vicki's Music Studio will perform during the event
• Horse and wagon rides will be provided
• Cookies and punch will be served
• Christmas lights and cutouts will be on the Depot lawn.
Arlington won its seventh consecutive McDonald's girls' holiday basketball tournament on Nov. 29. Arlington defeated Bluffton 45-17, in the title game.
Allen East defeated Cory Rawson 52-41 in the consolation game.

Bluffton Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will hold a bakery bingo on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015. Family and community members are invited to attend the annual fundraiser.
Local businesses wishing to contribute donations for themed baskets, which will be raffled during the event, should contact one of the bakery bingo co-chairs listed below. Businesses may donate gift certificates for services, gift cards, or items.
Profits from bakery bingo allow the PTO to support the elementary school with items such as classroom technology and equipment, and field trips.
With over 100 units, the 2014 Blaze of Lights parade was the largest and longest in Blaze history. The parade entertained a crowd at places five people deep and lasted 60 minutes.
Temperatures actually rose during the parade. Starting at 4 p.m. the Citizens National Bank temperature read 48 degrees. By 8 p.m. the temperature reached 53 making it a very pleasant Thanksgiving weekend downtown.

Parents of the Bluffton High School junior class are organizing post prom activities for Saturday, April 25, 2015. They plan to provide chaperoned games and activities for the students from 11:30 p.ml. to 2:30 a.m. at BFR Sports and Fitness. In addition, they are asking that local businesses donate door prizes -- monetary, gift certificates, or products -- so that each BHS junior and senior attending will receive a door prize.
