Doug Adams, folk singer, will perform a concert at 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 19, in the main level of the Bluffton Public Library.
The native of Cincinnati has lived in northwestern Ohio for the past 27 years. He began his folk singing career in the late '60s and was influenced by Woody Guthrie, Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs and John Denver.
He performs old ballads and simple songs that tell the stories of the great folk era of the 1960s and 1970s. He will also incorporate some singing for youngsters during his program.
Individuals and family are encouraged to participate in this year's Bluffton-area Relay for Life.
The event will be held on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, at the Bluffton University Salzman Football Stadium.
Opening ceremony begin at 6 p.m. following the survivor celebration dinner. Individuals and families are invited to walk the track in memory or honor of those battling cancer. The first lap of the evening, at 6:15 p.m. will include area cancer survivors and their caregivers.
Bluffton High School's scholastic and scholarship winners were recognized last evening at the 34th annual BHS academic awards program.
The evening included presentation of scholarships, individual class awards, athletic awards and a listing of seniors who have received college scholarships.

The American bird, a Bald Eagle, apparently finds fishing in Riley Creek to its liking. The stream flows through the Tim and Dawn King farm and that's where Dawn captured the eagle on camera.
Dr. F.L. (Lee) Grismore Jr., 77, of Ada, died at home on Monday, May 13, 2014.
He was the son of Fred and Princess (Long) Grismore of Pandora, Ohio. Born on June 11, 1936, he grew up on the family farm and graduated from Pandora-Gilboa High School in 1954. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Ohio Northern University in 1958, an MSEE from the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in 1961 and his PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1970.
County Line Church of the Brethren is holding its 9th annual Chicken Barbeque dinner from 4-6 p.m. on June 12, 2014.
