Funeral arrangements for Frederick Fritchie incomplete

Frederick Fritchie, 90, died at 3:15 a.m. Feb. 26, 2013, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.

Services will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at English Lutheran Church. Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Bob and Bev Amstutz - their community involvement is endless - named Lions Club Citizens of the Year

Congratulations Bob and Bev.

Community volunteers Bob and Bev Amstutz are the 2012 Bluffton Lions Club Citizens of the Year. The announcement was made this week.

The couple will be honored by the Lions in a dinner open to the public at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, in the Bluffton town hall. John Harris will cater the dinner. Tickets are $13 each and are available from Lion Club members.

Kindergarten screening coming up April 15 - 17

Bluffton Elementary School has scheduled Kindergarten screening for Monday, April 15 through Wednesday, April 17.  

Any child who will be five years old by August 1 is eligible to enroll.

Will Pope named honorable mention All-HCAC

Junior Will Pope (Somerville/Preble Shawnee) earned honorable mention All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition for his play during the 2012-13 campaign.

It is Pope’s first post-season All-HCAC award after battering opponents on the block all season.
