The Village of Bluffton's Safety Committee will be meeting Monday, Oct. 7 at 11a.m. at the Town Hall according to Nancy Kindle, village fiscal officer.

 

The fall edition of  "The Visioneer," a project update for Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio New Vision campaign, is now available on The Icon.

The issue is in an attachment at the bottom of this story.

The year is 1963 - according to the license plate on the turned-over truck. The scene is the construction of one of the Interstate 75 overpasses around Bluffton. We don't have the specific information about this accident, but the photo reveals the following:

1 - Bluffton fire department responded. Truck number 2, a late 1930s-era Mack, is parked in the southbound lane. Is that Charles Swank of the fire department, talking the the man in the sunglasses?

The winner of the Icon's Week 5 football contest is Bryan White. Bryan, Elizabeth Boisvert and Randy Garmatter all correctly picked 12 games this week. Bryan was declared the winner by virtue of the second tie-breaker.

You might drive away in this car on Saturday - but you need a raffle ticket. The Bluffton Lions Foundation drawing for this year's Corvette raffle is noon on Saturday. The drawing takes place at the Bluffton Farmers' Market. Tickets will be available all morning at the market.

The drawing for this year's Bluffton Lions Foundation charity Corvette raffle is noon, Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Bluffton Farmers' Market.

Raffle tickets will be available for sale at the market from 7:30 a.m. until a few minutes prior to the drawing at noon.

This is the fourth year the Foundation has been holding the event featuring the drawing for a Corvette.

The first year winner was from Van Wert; the second year's winner was from Spencerville; and last year's winner was from Celina.
