Denny Edinger will share about his extensive post card collection with members of the Bluffton Senior Citizens during the Center’s Monday, Aug. 12 potluck. The Bluffton resident and post office employee will tell about his collection and show some examples of some of his post cards.

At the meeting two members, Pearl Williamson and Keitha Carver, will receive their life memberships. Both turn 90 in August.

Lots of other events take place at the Senior Center in August and September. The monthly newsletter, as an attachment at the bottom of this story tells of all events.

Bluffton Public Library is going to the dogs this month.

During the first week of August, the staff offered a variety of family activities during the “dog days of summer” at Bluffton Public Library.

On Saturday, Aug.10, at 10:30 a.m., Tango, a certified therapy dog, and her owner, Angela Schimmel, will make a guest appearance in the children’s area.  All ages are welcome to meet Tango and learn more about therapy dogs. Youngsters may take turns reading some of her favorite stories to her.

The Bluffton High School cheerleaders recently placed third at the Wood County Fair cheerleading competition, according to Hannah Slechter, coach. 

This was their first of six competitions. Next they will compete at Country Cheer Fest on Saturday, Aug. 10.

It's not fall yet, but plans are underway for the 10th annual Bluffton Fall Festival planned on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Christian recording artist, JJ Heller, will be performing live in concert at Pandora Missionary Church Sunday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. VIP Passes for a meet and greet with the artist, photos, autographs, and refreshments are an additional $5.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing someone of this caliber to the area,” said Joanna Gratz, member of the Fellowship Board at Pandora Missionary Church.
