A fundraiser to assist a Bluffton resident with cancer is planned Saturday. Friends of Brenda Kohli Anderson have put the event together. 

The following activities take place a Brenda's residence, 736 N. Main St:
• Several raffles
• Lots of food, including sloppy joes, scalloped potatoes and desserts, all available for a $7 donation. Youth 5 and under are free.

Take a trip to visit the Amish with the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center this fall - make that two trips. Here's the details from Bob Painter:

Lightning Bug Theatre - think of it as a drive-in movie without the cars - was a big hit on Vine Street onThursday night.

June 1
-Police found a juvenile on N. Main St. that was out past curfew.  The juvenile was charged with a curfew violation.
-Police responded to a menacing complaint at a Grove St. Residence.   
June 4
-Officers took a complaint from a Riley St. Resident who reported that a second party owed her money from a check and she had not received it. 
-A S. Main St. Resident reported a theft of a statue from the front of his residence.

Playing at the Shannon Theatre beginning July 26 and through August 1 is Grown Ups 2.  This movie is rated PG-13.

Showtimes are every evening at 7 p.m and 9:30 p.m.

Matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn flavor of the month for August is Ragin' Cajun.

A summer Italian Festival returns to Jeanne' Kitchen, Vine Street on Saturday, July 27, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., according to Jeanne Previte.

Vine Street will be closed from Main to the alley behind Jeanne's, so that patrons may eat in  seating on the street or inside the restaurant. Chuck Summers, saxophonist, will entertain patrons during the festival.

The all-Italian menu follows:
