A Vermont resident passed through town recently. The Icon spotted this Green Mountain State plate in Bluffton last week.

The Centre, 601 N. Main St., will host its annual spring murder mystery dinner - this year titled "Pandora's Box," at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 30, according to Brenda Gaines. This is the troupe's 11th performance at The Centre.

Hosted by Mr. E Murder Productions, "Pandora's Box" is a mystery based upon the reading of a will for a soon-to-be-dead Mortimer Lear. The heirs of Mr. Lear gather at the request of the man, who has lived as a recluse for decades.

Several telephone scams have been reported to Bluffton police this winter. Many have struck at elderly residents. Police Chief Rick Skilliter explained some of these scams to The Icon and warned viewers to beware.

Elaine Harris of Bluffton was named Bluffton Lions Club Citizen of the Year for 2011. The announcement was made in this month's Lions newsletter, which is an attachment to this story.

Harris will be recognized by the club during at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, program held at Maple Crest.

This year's Lions Foundation Corvette raffle kickoff is at noon, Tuesday, March 6.
