Ohio house, senate and congressional maps available to download

Maps showing districts in the Ohio Senate, House and the U.S. Congressional districts as they will stand for 2011-12 are now available from The Icon.

The maps are from the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. To view and print any of the maps open the attachments at the bottom of this story.

Esther Neff named Senior Center volunteer of 2010

The Bluffton Icon now provides the Bluffton Senior Citizens monthly newsletter as a downloadable attachment. The complete newsletter may be opened at the bottom of this story.

Several activities are planned in January at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

The January dinner meeting is at noon, Monday, Jan. 10. Don Wymer is the master of ceremonies. Elaine Rich will present school days poetry.

Hospital Auxiliary collecting items for Jan. 24-27 auction

The Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary is in the process of collecting items for its upcoming auction fund-raiser, according to Diane Stratton.

"We are now collecting items for the auction. We need your support. Please bring new or nearly new items in and drop them off at the administration office of the hospital," she said.

Persons with questions call 419-369-2302. The auction begins Monday, Jan. 24, and ends at noon, Jan. 27.

PTO holds Bakery Bingo on Jan. 29

The Bluffton Elementary PTO will hold its annual winter Bakery Bingo from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, in the middle school cafetorium, according to Mandy Klinger, PTO president.

"Baked goods are won as Bingo prizes. We also have many raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing, $1 a ticket or six tickets for $5," she said.

Concessions may be purchased during the event, including Luke's pizza.

"This is a fun family and community event and is the largest fundraiser for Bluffton Elementary PTO," said Klinger.
