SATURDAY POWER UPDATE - THE POWER WILL NOT GO OFF IN BLUFFTON
3:50 p.m. Friday power update – POWER IN BLUFFTON WILL NOT GO OFF SATURDAY MORNING (as previously announced by the Icon).
At 2:53 p.m. Bluffton police announced via Nixel that AEP would shut off Village of Bluffton electricity from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Icon immediately posted this announced on its site and on Facebook. Then, at 3:30 p.m. a new police Nixle announcement stated that Bluffton’s power would NOT go off.
The Icon contacted AEP immediately to discover what was happening - are we off or are we on?
After talking with the four person at AEP - the first three assured the Icon that Bluffton's power would in fact be turned off - the following was learned:
No one in the Village of Bluffton will be without power on Saturday morning.
However the villages of Dola and Dunkirk will be without power for up to two hours Saturday.
Also, sections of rural Ada, Alger, Jenera, Williamstown and Kenton might be affected by the Dola-Dunkirk scheduled outage. It is possible that scattered customers with a Bluffton mailing address might also be affected - but AEP could not identify specifically those customers.
