Bluffton council is looking at a projected $4.1 million 2021 village budget. Discussed at the July 27 council meeting, the budget must be approved and sent to the Allen County commissioners by the end of July.

Then, in December, council takes the budget and it becomes 2021 allocations. Several changes could take place in the village financial document between now and the end of the year.

Here are some of the specific budget category expenditures anticipated for 2021:

$2,539,719 – General Fund
$430,013 – Streets
$88,586 – State highway
$17,123 – Cemetery
$19,613 – Parks
$1,934 – Benroth Bridge
$5,113 – DUI enforcement

Among the larger capital fund expenditures include:
$301,734 – Town hall improvement
$208,125 - Fire and rescue improvement
$112,553 – Airport improvement
$34,285 – Pool improvement

General fund revenue is anticipated at $2,777,494 with expenses at $1,931,209, leaving an estimated Dec. 31, 2021 balance of $1,378,504, or a decreases of $1,418,941.

The total village 2021 budget is anticipated at:
$5,796,210 – Revenue
$7,216,151 – Expenses
$2,207,500 – Transfers in
$2,207,500 – Transfers out
$2,709,077 – Balance on Dec. 31, 2021.

The general fund reserve on Dec. 31, 2021 is estimated at $412,900.
