Andy Althaus named CNB chief financial officer
Andy Althaus has been named chief financial officer for Citizens National Bank.
In this role Althaus is responsible for oversight of internal and external financial reporting for the bank, as well as the holding company, Citizens Bancshares.
Chief duties include assisting the chief executive officer and president with strategic decisions including developing programs to assist with growth, participating in bank budgeting, and forecasting the bank’s financial position.
He also monitors bank liquidity, performs capital stress testing, and supervises the bank’s accounting department.
Althaus has worked at Citizens National Bank since 1989, beginning as a teller and moving into the accounting department in 1991.
“He’s been a vital part of that department ever since, being named senior vice president of accounting in 2012 prior to this promotion,” said Eric Faulkner, bank president.
“Andy’s level of experience and general understanding of how CNB operates allows us to rely on his judgement and aid the board in making good financial decisions for the bank. We’re pleased to promote Andy to this position which truly reflects his leadership role within our organizations.”
Althaus holds a B.A. in Accounting/Economics from Bluffton University and an M.B.A. from the University of Northwestern Ohio. He is also a graduate of Bluffton High School.
He graduated from Ohio Bankers League (OBL) Leadership Institute and a member of the OBL CFO advisory group. He is a volunteer coach for youth fast pitch softball and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bluffton. He, his wife, Danielle, and daughter, Adelyn, live in Bluffton.
