John R. Watt was an insulator for Union Hall #41
John R. Watt, 52, passed away October 9, 2021 at his residence. John was born January 7, 1969 in Bluffton to William "Bill" and Judith (Wilch) Watt.
John graduated from Bluffton High School. He was an insulator for Union Hall #41. John enjoyed always being near the water, fishing on Lake Erie, his "big" campfires and his dog, Brutus. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Survivors include his father, William "Bill" R. Watt of Elida; a brother, Jeffery (Melissa) Watt of Columbus Grove; a sister, Tammy Steiner of Bluffton; a niece, Emily Watt of Columbus Grove; a nephew, Wyatt Watt of Columbus Grove; a maternal grandmother, Bonnie Pfohl of Sarasota, Florida; two uncles, Bob Watt of Cleveland, Doug Watt of Lima; an aunt, Cindy (Jeff) Williams of Lima; his close friend, Elizabeth Sampson of Beaverdam and her son, Chad Veit of Bluffton.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Watt; paternal grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Watt; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Ray and Raelene Wilch; and maternal step-grandfather, Richard Pfohl.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services-Bluffton. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beaverdam-Richland Fire Department.
