Aug. 4 National Night Out in Bluffton organized by police officers, supported by community
By Paula Pyzik Scott
Bluffton's 12th annual National Night Out will be celebrated at the Community Pool, 205 Snider Rd., from 6:00-9:00 p.m. As a part of the event, there will be free admission to the pool all day.
Lieutenant Matt Oglesbee, who has coordinated the event from the start, notes that the traditional hot dogs, chips, drinks, and treats will be provided for those in attendance. National Night Out is designed to be a free activity for families and an opportunity to hang out with local safety services.
There will also be inflatables, face painting, mini-golf, touch-a-truck and other fun things to check out. Antique fire truck rides will be missing this year. Both the Bluffton and Pandora trucks need some work at this time.
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will be providing fireworks. The pyrotechnical display will begin at 9:30 p.m. There will be a 96.1 FM-TheWit radio broadcast beginning about 9:20 that will recognize National Night Out and Fireworks sponsors, followed by music during the fireworks.
