Obituaries

Loren D. Core, 75, of Duffield, Virginia, died Sept. 8, 2020. He was the son of G. Richard and Vera Gratz Core whom preceded him in death. He was born Oct. 18, 1945.

Survivors include children, Travis Core of Portland, Oregon, and daughter Amy Ludwig of Arizona City, Arizona, Brian of California, Darran of Washington state, Byron of Snowflake, Arizona, six grandchildren and one great-grand child. Also surviving is a very special friend, Janice Murphy

Was a 4-H advisor for 16 years

Jerry L. Kiracofe, 77, died Sept. 2, 2020, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  Jerry was born April 25, 1943, in Lima to the late Francis and June (Mowery) Kiracofe. On Jan. 7, 1967 he married Judy Cheney Kiracofe who survives.

Jerry graduated from Bath High School and then served in the U. S. Navy for four years.  He was a member of the Pleasant View United Church of the Brethren in Lima.  Jerry owned and operated many businesses in the area and retired from B.P. Chemical where he was an electrician after 34 years.  

In the 1980s his hog farm was a test facility for solar energy with the Ohio State University

Edward W. Hummon, 73, died Sept. 3, 2020 at his residence. Edward was born Sept. 30, 1946, in Lima to the late Edmund and Dorothy (Ferrall) Hummon. On Aug. 15, 1989 he married Ann Frost Hummon and she survives.  

Edward graduated from Cory-Rawson High School. He was lifetime farmer and raised hogs for many years.  Edward enjoyed tractor pulling, crop tours with his grandchildren and building projects.  In the 1980s his hog farm was a test facility for solar energy with the Ohio State University.  

Taylor J. Steele, 27, of Bluffton, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2020, at Promedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo. Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Donna Augsburger, 91, of Bluffton, died in Bridge Hospice at the Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020. 

Born Nov. 29, 1928, to Franklin and Dessie (Radabaugh) McCullough, Donna grew up in the Gilboa area. After graduating from Pandora High School in 1947, Donna attended Warner’s Beauty College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, married Clyde Augsburger in 1948, and worked as a hair dresser and later as a secretary at Hercules Tire, before dedicating her life to being a homemaker and the right hand to her husband on the family farm.  

Donna G. Augsburger, 91, of Bluffton died Aug. 31, 2020 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.  Private graveside services will be held.  Arrangements are pending at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffto
