With power restored following severe storms that occurred after Monday night's meet, the Bluffton Sardines hosted the Van Wert YMCA Marlins in Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) competition on Thursday, June 16.
The Sardines won the combined event with a score of 929-199 and won the boys and girls meets.
Top Bluffton swimmers with four first place finishes in individual competition were Roman Shank, Camden Verb and Riley Verb. Swimmers with three first place finishes were Madelyn Agner, Ethan Roby and Madelyn Sterret.
The Bluffton Soccer Club registration is now open for the Fall 2022 season. Players with birth years 2008-2016 may register for participation with the youth soccer club.
With thunderstorms expected and the air thick with humidity, the Bluffton Sardines hosted the Kenton Stingrays in Western Ohio Aquatics League (WOAL) competition on Monday, June 13 at the Bluffton Community Pool, 205 Snider Rd.
Bluffton won the home meet 896-293 and is scheduled to host Van Wert at home on Thursday, June 16.

The visiting Bluffton Sardines outswam Ada-Lost Creek Gators in West Ohio Aquatic League dual meet action Thursday night, June 9.
The Sardines won the combined boys-girls team event with scores of 465-274 over the Gators. The Sardine boys won 235-153, while the Sardine girls won 230-121.
Bluffton's Kari Diller won five races in the 11-12 age bracket to lead the girls..
Bluffton's Camden Verb won four individual races in the 11-12 age bracket to pace the boys.
The Icon chased down Bluffton High School track and field head coach Jason Diller for an overview of the 2022 spring season and postseason which ended on June 4 with nine BHS athletes competing at the OHSAA DIII championship meet in Columbus.
This is Diller’s first year as head coach after assisting Bill Theisen as well as having served as Cory-Rawson’s head coach for 7 years. With 65 athletes on the team, it’s a big job to coordinate workouts for so many individuals and events. He was assisted by a coaching team of:
COLUMBUS, Ohio--The Bluffton High School track and field team had nine representatives compete in the Div. III state meet June 3 and 4 in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus.
The Pirate boys finished a strong fourth in the Div. III team standings. Norwayne won with 40 points, followed by McDonald (38), Hopewell-Loudon (31) and Bluffton (29).
Senior Ethan Bogart finished third in the 300-meter hurdle finals after taking first in the preliminary heats.
