BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton defeated Leipisc 7-1 in Div. IV sectional final softball action Friday evening.
The Lady Pirates improved to 20-1 with their 19th win in a row. The Lady Vikings ended up 8-14 after the loss.
Junior hurler Libby Schaadt won her 17th game in a row with a two-hitter. She struck out nine Vikings and walked four, allowing one earned run.
Bluffton scored a run in the home first to grab an early lead. They extended the edge to 3-0 before the Vikes scored their lone run in the top of the fourth frame.

BLUFFTON - Host Bluffton whipped Allen East 14-5 in the Northwest Conference softball season finale to win an outright league championship Wednesday evening.
The Lady Pirates won for the 18th consecutive game to improve to 19-1 overall. Bluffton finished 8-0 in the NWC and won the crown by a game over Crestview (7-1). AE fell to 15-5 and 5-3 in the NWC with the loss.

LIMA - The visiting Bluffton boys tennis team defeated Lima Senior 3-2 Monday evening.
The Pirates improved to 4-9 with their second consecutive road victory.
Pirate junior Drew Wilson won 6-2, 6-0 at first singles over Phillip Korikian. Teammate Mack Burner won a third-set tiebreaker over Jeremiah Dew 5-7, 7-5 (10-7).
Pirates Eden Nygaard and Grant Klinger teamed up to win at first doubles over Christopher Bishop and Connor Brayton by a 6-2, 6-3 score.

ADA - The Ada track and field program hosted its annual 16-team Invitational meet on a wet, overcast Saturday.
Spencerville won the girls team crown by a narrow margin over Van Wert and Bath. Van Wert captured the boys team title by 50 points over second-place Bluffton.
Bluffton junior Brady Garmatter took first in the 400 meters in 52.01, and anchored the winning Pirate 4 x 800 relay quartet (8:44.92).

DELPHOS - Visiting Bluffton posted a sixth consecutive shutout as hurler Libby Schaadt blanked Delphos Jefferson 8-0 Thursday evening in a Northwest Conference softball game.
The Lady Pirates extended their win streak to 17 games with the victory. Bluffton improved their season record to 18-1 and 7-0 in NWC play to stay in first place.
The Pirate girls have one league game left vs. second-place Allen East (15-2, 5-1 NWC), a makeup bout slated for Wednesday, May 8.
DJ fell to 5-13 overall and 1-5 in NWC action with the defeat.
