Bluffton University senior Mackenzie Hoeckley will present “In the Palms of My Hands” at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, in the Reading Room of Musselman Library.
Hoeckley, an art and writing major from Santa Barbara, Calif., will showcase some of her written work and discuss what she’s learned from the process.
The Sunflower Trio, comprised of Hesston College music faculty Matthew Schloneger, tenor; Rebecca Schloneger, violin and Ken Rodgers, piano, will present a program about Mennonite composer J. Harold Moyer which will feature some of his music during Forum at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, in Yoder Recital Hall.
The group will also perform a concert of Moyer’s works at 7:30 p.m. that evening in Yoder Recital Hall. Both events are free and open to the public. A free-will offering to cover program expenses will be taken during the evening performance.
Bluffton University students, faculty and staff will gather at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 2 for a memorial service at the Circle of Remembrance to recognize the 10th anniversary of the 2007 baseball team’s bus accident in Atlanta, Ga., when the team’s charter bus fell from an overpass on their way to spring training.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton senior AUSTIN ROHDE (Shelby) capped off his stellar career at the University by being just one of six players to earn First Team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors! Rohde collected hardware for the second straight season after the high flyer was a second team selection as a junior. Sophomore Jared Wentling (Carey) scooped up Honorable Mention All-HCAC for his cage efforts this year.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The third time was a charm for a Transylvania University women's basketball team that came up on the short end of both regular season meetings with the Beavers. Transy dominated the second half, 42-27, en route to a berth in the Heartland Conference title game where the Pioneers will look to take down #1 seed and tourney host Rose-Hulman, a 57-41 victor over Franklin in the first semi on Friday night.
