=It took the whole busload to fend off Franklin College on Friday, Oct. 26. The Bluffton University volleyball team won in a five-set thriller (25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-10) putting the Beavers at 15 wins for the season (5-4 HCAC).

The Bluffton University men’s soccer team was defeated 4-0 by Transylvania University on Saturday, Oct. 27. The Beavers ended their 2012 campaign 2-15 overall and 0-8 in the Heartland Conference, while Transylvania improved to 15-1-2 overall and 8-0-1 in the HCAC.

Due to Hurricane Sandy and resulting airport closures on the East Coast, Murli Buluswar is unable to travel to deliver Bluffton University’s annual Presidential Leadership Lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 30.

The lecture by the 1991 Bluffton alumnus will be rescheduled for a date during the spring semester.

The Beavers traveled to Anderson, Ind., on  Saturday, Oct. 27, following a bye week and defeated the Ravens, 13-0, in a sloppy game that featured four missed field goals and a missed extra point for the Beavers.

The Bluffton University men’s soccer team fell to rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, by a final count of 3-0. Bluffton slipped to 2-13 overall and 0-7 in the Heartland Conference, while Defiance improved to 3-14-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the HCAC.
