Jefferson Street's appearance changes daily and the light at the end of the project tunnel is becoming more obvious. On Friday additional coats of pavement were placed on the street bed. Click for a video.

The library’s annual Holiday Gift Silent Auction starts Friday, Nov. 1, at 9:30 a.m. and continues through Monday, Nov. 25, at 7:30 p.m. This is a wonderful way to get your holiday shopping done all while benefiting your library and its community.

Mary Magdalene Boyer, 95, of Bluffton died Oct. 9, 2019, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Mary was born March 8, 1924, in Sugarcreek, Ohio, to the late Asa Clay and Iola (Miller) Maust.
On June 29, 1952, she married Claude Boyer who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2013, after 61 years of marriage.
Shane Halcomb of Bluffton recently participated in and completed the Louisville Ironman. Although the swim portion was cancelled due to toxic algea in the Ohio River, the course did consist of a 112-mile bicycle ride followed by a full marathon of 26.2 miles.
"There was much serious training involved prior to the competition,” said Halcomb.
A family-friendly Trunk or Treat will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, on Thursday, October 31, from 5:30-8 p.m.
Children of all ages are encourages to come trick-or-treating at trunks in the parking lot behind the church. Free hay rides will be offered from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Inside the school gym, there will be free crafts, games, sensory bins, cookie decorating, and pumpkin decorating. Food will be available for purchase.
The Bluffton University volleyball team traveled to Manchester University on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, for a matchup against the Spartans. The Beavers secured a three-set victory (25-20, 25-22, 25-18) over the home team. Bluffton improved to 6-20 (2-4 HCAC) while Manchester dropped to 10-13 (0-5 HCAC).
