The Ohio Northern University Observatory will be open to the public for a moon and star-gazing event on Friday, March 6, 8-10 p.m.
The event is called "Moon in the Beehive" because “the moon will be passing through the 'Beehive cluster' in Cancer this evening. We'll take on the challenge of seeing the stars, despite the bright moon being nearby,” said Dr. Jason Pinkney, professor of physics and astronomy at ONU.
Laney Kiene, Bluffton fifth grade artist, created this "pre-historic cave art" piece now on exhibit at the Bluffton Public Library. It is among dozens of art work by artists from Bluffton, Pandora-Gilboa, Cory-Rawson, Columbus Grove and home schoolers. The show is open all month. Watch the Icon for more photos from the exhibit next week.
Bluffton University will celebrate 75 years of offering a social work program to students later this month.
A university Forum will focus on the social work program at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 17, in Yoder Recital Hall.
During the presentation, alumni and faculty from the program will present stories from the earliest graduates, those who came back to teach in the program and others who used their degrees in creative ways.

Our photo was taken by Nicole McConnahea on the last evening of our classes at Bluffton University. It sure was pretty!
