Allen County's covid-19 cases jump dramatically

September had 323 newly identified cases in Allen County • and, 322 new cases in just the past 7 days

Allen County remains at Risk Level 3 (Red) for COVID-19 as of October 29, 2020

Public health data indicates that for the second week in a row Allen County is designated Red Alert Level 3 for risk of the spread of COVID-19, as defined by the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. Allen County meets the following three data indicators:

•  New cases per capita (375.2 cases per 100,000 residents) *100/100,000 is considered high-incidence by the CDC

•  Sustained increase in new cases

Nicholas Norton, Pandora, on OSU-Lima homecoming court

Nicholas Norton, a theatre and English major from Pandora, is a member of the 2020 Ohio State University-Lima homecoming court.

A virtual ceremony included all OSU regional campus homecoming courts. Homecoming king is Nick Vulgamott, Delphos and queen is Lauryn Richardson, Lima.

Rachel Schutz 1926 - 2020

Rachel Ann Schutz, 94, died Oct. 28, 2020, at her residence. Rachel was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Berne, Indiana, to the late Menno and Leota (Sprunger) Eicher.  On Aug. 5, 1950, she married Oliver Schutz who preceded her in death on April 6, 2011. 

Rachel was a homemaker and also worked as a custodian at Grace Mennonite Church in Pandora for many years.  She was a member of Grace Mennonite Church in Pandora where she served as a deaconess and various other positions.
