Rising country singer has recorded a song about Bluffton

All due to a fluke vehicle breakdown on I-75 last summer

Thanks to a fluke vehicle breakdown on I-75 last summer, a rising star on the national country music scene will soon release an album featuring one song about Bluffton.

That rising star is Sal Walker and his band April Shortbread.

Late Sunday evening last July 21, Derek Dukes stopped to help a group traveling in a Tuscany Thor Motor Coach stalled on the southbound exit 140 ramp. 

Assessing the situation, Dukes drove to the Beaverdam travel center. There he explained the breakdown problem to a mechanic who returned with Dukes and repaired the stranded vehicle.

Letter: A request to persons on Bluffton pathways

Please keep your distance at 6 feet

Bluffton friends:
The bike paths are not wide enough for 2 couples to walk past each other 6 ft apart.

Three people walking side by side while pushing a baby carriage is not 6 ft of physical distancing.

Walkers, joggers, bikers in single file, with 6 ft of separation from the person in front and behind you would allow users of the bike paths to pass each other.

Some communities/cities have closed bike paths because physical distancing is not being maintained. Discuss among yourselves.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio is thankful for the many volunteers who have given of their time throughout the many years to serve and support the elders of our communities.

Due to precautions taken concerning COVID-19, all volunteer activities have been suspended except for drivers who help with Our Daily Bread - Mobil Meals in Bluffton.

Help your community - wear a mask

Masks help stop the infected from infecting others

There are two reasons to wear a mask:

• to protect *yourself* against what's out there, so you can personally try to avoid infection, and

•  to protect *others* from what *you* may have so that you don't infect the community.

The second reason is what some doctors and epidemiologists are emphasizing as an important tool for fighting COVID-19. They are not recommending you keep N95 masks.
