Bluffton Public Library is hosting an Internet Safety workshop for 6th to 12th graders on Thursday, June 27 at 10 a.m. This workshop is led by Teresa Mercer, the Prevention and Education Coordinator at Open Arms of Findlay.
Bluffton University’s 22nd annual Alumni and Friends Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, July 27, at Bluffton Golf Club.
Registration for this event is $90 per golfer or $360 for a complete team of four. This cost includes greens fee, cart and lunch. To attend the lunch only is $10. Register atwww.bluffton.edu/golf by July 20.
Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center has been reverified as a Level 2 trauma center by the Committee on Trauma (COT), an achievement that recognizes devotion to optimal care for injured patients. The verification extends St. Rita’s Level II Trauma Center status through May 2021.
The COT was established by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) to help improve all phases of care of injured patients. Verified trauma centers, such as St. Rita’s, must meet the strict criteria that ensures quality of trauma patient care and institutional performance.
The Bluffton Food Pantry regularly distributes food and other essential supplies to approximately 50 families in the area.
The panty’s supplies are currently running low so volunteers from English Lutheran Church are coordinating a food drive from Saturday, June 22, through Tuesday, June 25.
Food pantry donations may be dropped off at the BFR, English Lutheran Church, or St. John’s United Church of Christ. The below items are needed before the next distribution day, which is Saturday, July 20.
Only 68% of intended corn acres and 46% of intended soybean acres planted in Ohio

Consistent rains across Ohio and the Corn Belt continue to delay planting progress as the June 17 USDA Planting Progress report showed that 68% of intended corn acres and 46% of intended soybean acres have been planted in Ohio.
Nationwide, roughly 27 million acres of corn and soybeans will either be planted or filed under prevented planting insurance.
Across Ohio, the Final Plant Date (FPD) for soybeans is June 20. Soybeans can be planted after the FPD, but a one percent reduction in the insurance guarantee occurs.

A volunteer at Mennonite Memorial Home since 1999, Betty cares for more than 60 plants; watering, pruning and even talking them into remaining healthy.
