Gospel Choir and Jazz Ensemble perform

Saturday evening in Yoder Recital Hall

Bluffton University will host a concert featuring its Gospel Choir and Jazz Ensemble at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in Yoder Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public; a free-will offering will be taken during intermission for music scholarships.

Nov. 17 blood drive in Jenera

Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera, Ohio is hosting a Red Cross blood drive on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran School gym, 104 Allen Street, Jenera.

Women’s soccer

The Bluffton University women's soccer team secured a 1-1 tie with Anderson University in the final game of the 2019 season on a frigid Saturday, Nov. 2. With the tie, Bluffton (6-10-2 and 3-4-2 HCAC) forged its best mark in the Heartland Conference since 2011 when the Beavers went 5-3-1 and played in the HCAC championship game. Bluffton also extinguished Anderson't tournament hopes as the Ravens (10-3-4 and 4-2-3) needed a victory to have a chance at continuing their season.

Hosted by Mercy Health - St. Rita’s Medical Center Nov. 8

St. Rita’s Medical Center  will hold its Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium Friday, Nov. 8, at the St. Rita’s Conference Center, 718 W. Market St., Lima.

It will be a day of presentations and discussion to emphasize the importance and advantages of robotic and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Registration will begin at 7 a.m., with various presentations going from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

In Richland Township fiscal officer race

Unofficial results from the Allen County board of election show Trisha Nieman defeating Neil Reichenbach by 9 votes in the race for Richland Township fiscal officer. Results show Nieman with 486 votes and Reichenbach with 477.
