$21 million I-75 upgrade between Bluffton and Beaverdam

Project starts this month • Northbound ramp from SR 103 to I 75 will close for several weeks

A $21 million project beginning this month will resurface Interstate 75 between Napoleon Road just south of the village of Beaverdam and state Route 235 three miles north of the village of Bluffton in Allen and Hancock counties.

The project also includes the reconstruction of Interstate 75 at state Route 696 in Beaverdam. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone. Work is expected to begin in March 2020 and is anticipated to complete in October 2020.

Hunter Hermiller joins NW Physical Therapy

Hunter Hermiller recently joined Northwest Physical Therapy as an occupational therapist, announced Daniel Settlage of the local health services provider.

Hermiller is a 2014 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and holds a bachelor's degree and master's of occupational therapy degree from the University of Findlay.

She has experience as a home health aide and STNA.  Northwest Physical Therapy has an office in the Bluffton Family Recreation building, 215 Snider Road, Bluffton.

Funeral arrangements incomplete for Sherlyn Lugibihl

Sherlyn R. Lugibihl, 78, of Bluffton died March 5, 2020, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

HCAC honors to 3 Beavers

Three familiar faces secured All-Heartland Conference recognition when the HCAC handed out its post-season hardware on Wedneday, March 4. Headlining the Bluffton selections was senior Andrew Renner (Cairo/Bath) who is the first Beaver to be named First Team All-HCAC since 2016-17 when Austin Rohde was honored. Isaiah Taylor (Yellow Springs) and Dezman Brown (Elyria) both notched Honorable Mention acclaim following the 2019-20 campaign.

Cleveland Brassworks coming to Bluffton University

Tickets are available for the Thursday, March 12, performance by professional brass quintet at 7 p.m. in Bluffton University’s Yoder Recital Hall. The group has performed at venues including concert halls, music festivals and corporate events, and provides a unique approach to a brass quintet concert.

Spring vendor pop up shop rescheduled for May 9
