Bluffton schools state performance index ranks in top 6% of all districts in Ohio

Here is the opening report from the current district newsletter of the Bluffton Exempted Village Schools. A copy of the entire newsletter is an attachment at the bottom of this story. This column is by Greg Denecker, Bluffton superintendent.

Calling all grade school girls - want to cheer for the Beavers?

The Bluffton University cheerleaders will host three practices for girls in grades 2-6, leading to a performance at a Beavers football game on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Participants will learn a dance, cheer and chant at the practices, scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16; Wednesday, Sept. 18; and Friday, Sept. 20, all on Copeland Court in the Sommer Center.

The performance will take place at halftime of the Sept. 21 game against Earlham at Salzman Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday AM midget football bake sale offers food and raffle items

The Bluffton Bucs football team will hold a bake sale from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 7, in front of Chase, 135 S. Main St., Bluffton.

Baked goods will be offered by donation. In addition a raffle of several items from Bluffton businesses will be held to benefit the team.

Professional development schools to be discussed Sept. 6

 

Dr. Gayle Trollinger, a professor and chair of education at Bluffton University, will address "Professional Development Schools: Best Practice for School/University Collaboration” at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Bluffton’s Centennial Hall.

The first colloquium of the academic year on campus, the presentation is free and open to the public.

Golden Dragon Acrobats to open Artist Series Sept. 19

Tickets are still available for the opening performance in the 2013-14 Bluffton University Artist Series, by The Golden Dragon Acrobats at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in Founders Hall.
