Rustic Bendz - jewelry - featured Saturday at Book ReViews

Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., celebrates Valentine’s Day with a designed jewelry program on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to Dr. Christina Walton, store manager.
  
Jenny Frankart of Rustic Bendz, spoon artist/owner, has designed jewelry for three years and says she "wants her creations to be fun."

Shannon Cemetery Commission will make recommendations to council on Monday

The Shannon Cemetery Commission will bring a nine-point recommendation to Bluffton council on Monday.
 
The commission met on Feb. 9 with nine of its 11 members present and voted unanimously on its recommendations. Council must now act on the recommendations.
 
Among the recommendations are to have funds for the project come from donations, replace gravestones on their “known” graves, and restore and clean all stones.

Teens for Jeans collection continues at the middle school

What's happening this month at the Bluffton Middle School? Here's an update from the school website:

The middle school continues its  Teens for Jeans drive. Teens for Jeans is an organization that donates jeans to the homeless kids in America.  

Drop off donations at the table in the entrance of the middle school. Any size and color is accepted. This event will run through the month of February.  

Free cookies are given to donors on Friday.

Tips on starting flowers, veggies, herbs from seeds March 1

Does this spring-like weather have you in the mood to start indoor plants for spring?

If so, The Gardeners’ of the Bluffton/Pandora Area can help you get started. The gardeners will hold a lecture on seed starting.    
 
 Expert grower Ann Boyd, owner of My Own Backyard Herbs and Flowers, will discuss the proper way to start flowers, vegetables and herbs from seed. Her talk is at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, in the Bluffton Public Library.
