"Lovin' on Lane" fundraiser

In support of Bluffton fifth grader diagnosed with leukemia

A “Lovin’ on Lane” fundraiser is underway this fall in support of a Bluffton fifth grader diagnosed with leukemia.

Lane Rossman, son of Tony and Jayme Schumacher and Lynn Rossman, was diagnosed in September. A group of friends are leading this fundraiser. They are also planning a benefit in December and more details will follow.

Lane’s other siblings are Whitney Boone, Haley Tuttle, Dilyn Rossman, Lydia Schumacher and Jackson Schumacher. Lane’s teachers at Bluffton are Jared Byers and Jeff Richards.

University Chorale, Camerata Singers Sunday concert streamed

Bluffton University’s fall choral concert featuring Camerata Singers and University Chorale will be streamed for viewing atwww.bluffton.edu/mus starting at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25.

At 2 p.m., the conductor will do a pre-concert talk with audience members via Zoom. Visit www.bluffton.edu/mus for more information and access to the Zoom meeting.

Roadside clean-up

Eight members of the Bluffton Lions Club participated in an Oct. 10 roadside clean-up project. Participants included Dan Diller, chair of the event, Gene Long, Jerry Szabo, Patty Navin, John Rich, Corwin Croy, Ron Heading and Barbara Plaugher.

Lady Pirate kickers douse Flames for 13th straight win

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton girls soccer team blanked tough Mansfield Christian 4-0 in Div. III sectional final action Thursday night at Steinmetz Field.

With their 13th straight win, the Pirate girls improved to 14-2-1. The Lady Flames ended their season 13-4-1 after the defeat.

Laykin Garmatter scored two goals to lead the Lady Pirates to victory.

She started the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute, and the game stayed 1-0 into halftime.
