Power is out in northwest section of town

Power is out in the Hunters Run and Shannon Street neighborhood as a result of a power pole being knocked over. A refuse truck struck a low-hanging AEP power line on West Riley, according to Bluffton police. Then, another driver, unaware of the problem, drove very close to the fallen lines. That vehicle is stopped in the center of the street, but it did not cause the power outage. Riley Street is closed between Garmtter and Shannon. Police report that AEP is on the way, but it is unknown when service will be returned.
