Hannah Chappell-Dick qualifies for NCAA national meet

Bluffton High School girls' track standout Hannah Chappell-Dick, a runner at Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Va., officially qualifies for the NCAA National Track & Field Championships in the 800 meter.

Her time of 2:11.89 has her 10th in the nation. The national meet is Thursday through Saturday, May 22-24, at Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio.

Greg's Pharmacy remodels, adds new features including home medical items

Greg’s Pharmacy, 126 N. Main St., Bluffton, has a new look today and it’s more than simply a new coat of paint.

“We’ve remodeled the store, adding several new features while continuing the familiar items customers are accustomed to seeing,” Mark BonDurant, of Clark’s Pharmacy, owner of Greg’s, told the Icon on Saturday.

New to Greg’s includes:
• home medical items
• new customer waiting area for prescriptions
• new drop off point for prescriptions
• new checkout area

Council meeting in town hall tonight

Bluffton council will meet in the town hall tonight (May 19), during its regular meeting, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator. The meeting will take place in the third floor meeting room instead of the large meeting room.

School board acts on approval of 2014 BHS grads

Bluffton school board will act on approving the 2014 Bluffton High School graduation list during its May meeting on Monday.

The list is in an attachment at the bottom of this story. In addition, in a separate attachment,  is the entire May 19 board agenda.

Community song circle

Ross "Tinman" Scaggs plays a melody on his guitar during Jammin' at the Library. The group, open to all ages, is an "accoustic jam and community song circle," as Charlie Saylor, jam organizer, decribes it. Currently they meet at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at the Bluffton Public Library. Their meeting frequency may change to twice a month. Watch the Icon for more information.
