Let's go for a ride

Saturday night is your opportunity to take a horse and wagon ride in Bluffton to view the Christmas lights. J.A. Smith’s Town and Country Carriage Service, Van Wert, will provide rides. Rides will start at the conclusion of the Blaze parade and will continue during the evening. Departure point is in front of Common Grounds coffee shop.Tickets are $4 for persons 11 and older and $2 for youth 10 and under. Children who can sit on an adult lap have no charge. Tickets will be sold at the front of Common Grounds. Ticket sales will begin during the parade.

Look who won Thanksgiving turkeys at Southgate Lanes

Tammy Grigsby, Randy Spallinger, Rick Hermiller, Jay Stratton, Bev Stockman and "I Am Coyote," don't need to buy their turkey or ham for Thanksgiving this year.

According to Derek Dukes of Southgate Lanes, those were the bowler in each league who had the most pins over average in Southgate's annual Thanksgiving turkey shoot.

Here are top series and games for all Southgate Lanes leagues for the week ending Nov. 22.

Schriner, Buroker on all-tourney team

Sarah Schriner and Paig Buroker, members of the Bluffton High School girls' basketball team, were name to the McDonald's Girls' Holiday Basketball Tournament all-tourney team.

Arlington defeated Bluffton 43-34 to win this year's title. In the consolation game Allen East defeated Cory-Rawson 61-30.

In the opening round, Bluffton stopped Cory-Rawson 50-45 and Arlington beat Allen East 48-39.
