“Living Through Loss” Series begin

Bridge Home Health and Hospice presentations

The 31st annual “Living Through Loss” educational series will begin on Monday, Sept. 16, through Bridge Home Health and Hospice, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System. 

Presentations are held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay. The topic for September will be “The Journey through Grief: What to Expect along the Way” presented by Tonya Camden, MSW, LISW-S.

James O. Dye was retired from General Dynamics

James O. Dye, 89, died on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at 11:46 a.m. at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

He was born on April 2, 1930, in Mud Lick, Kentucky, to the late John and Rusha (Blevins) Dye. On Dec. 21, 1951, James married Peach Wireman who preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2012.

James retired from General Dynamics in 2003, where he worked as a welder. He was a member of the Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God.  James loved listening to music.

Charles Baker was a Bluffton High School graduate

Former Bluffton resident and Bluffton High School graduate, Charles Allen Baker, 72, of Millville, Ohio, died at his home on Aug. 24, 2019. He was born Dec. 1, 1946.

He married Carla Lind on Aug. 23 1969, and she survives.

Also surviving are children, Jennifer (Baker) Willoughby and Nicholas Baker, son-in-law, Ken Willoughby, granddaughter, Adison Willoughby, and siblings, Anita (Baker) Ryan, Elaine Baker, Keith Baker, Margaret (Baker) Mann and Mary Jane (Baker) Gavin.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Arden and Jane (Miller) Baker.

Senior Center announces bus and coach trips

Bluffton Senior Center offers four bus trips now through next spring, plus two coach trips during the same period, according to Tonya Meyer, Center director.

Coach trips:
• Sept 8-16 – Colorado’s vintage railways
• May 20-30, 2020 – Oberammergau, passion play, in Europe
